My Rating: Excellent

I first read “Dawn” in 1990 at the end of my senior year of high school. I started the book one evening and didn’t quit until I finished, toward the end of the night. Not too many books could have kept me up like that. Re-reading it a few years ago didn’t produce the same reaction but it definitely holds up as a great science fiction novel.

If you’ve ever read “Blood Child” by Butler (one of her most well known stories) you will recognize similar themes.
